Once again we are pleased to showcase the St. Andrew’s Hospice Photography Calendar for 2020 which was produced through a collaborative competition between NCL photography students and the hospice.

The winners were revealed at an awards ceremony in June 2019 which was attended by staff from the hospice and the judging panel including renowned photographer Colin Prior.
Images were selected considering the theme of “family tree” with interpretations varying from the specifics of actual natural history photographs to family bonds and special places that hold memories.
The winning images represented the broad range of courses which we offer in Photography from NQ, HNC and HND. Please see below for preview of the images which will appear in the calendar.
January – A Night of Friendship by Heather Callaghan February – Forever Love by Hannah Ward March – Caring Hands by Jules Greggain April – Hay There by Emma Sims May – The Lonely Tree by Margaret Ann McKenna June – That Moment by Craig Murray July – Instant Bond by Lauren Foster August – Family Ties by Kerri Beck September – Portencross Pier by Caitlin Johnstone October – Memories by Jules Greggain November – Horse at Sunset by Margaret Ann McKenna December – Festive Frolics by William Wood
The overall prize for the best entry in the competition was awarded to Kerri Beck from our NQ Photography course. Her image was selected by the judging panel with comments on the creative interpretation of the brief showing a thoughtful approach to her image.
